Light up North loves Staithes Arts festival.

Light up North taking our Neon art on the road.

Pinch and a punch, it’s the start of a new month and a new school year and the crazy run up too……

Bet you thought I was going to say Christmas didn’t you!! You are right we need to keep an eye on that Turkey. There are only 15 weeks of custom Neon sign making days left. We shall talk about that again.

However before that, Light up North has a jam packed autumn. There is so much going on, I thought I better let you know what we are going to be and what we are up to. It would be so lovely if you could come along

September opens with our return to the Staithes Arts festival on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September. You can see many of our bespoke and custom made neon’s in the flesh. This is the festival for people who are serious about their art, serious about finding something new and special and having chance to have a genuine encounter with the artist. Please do check out the website for all the info you need. If you haven’t been before, all the small fisherman’s cottages in the quaint harbour town of Staithes in North Yorkshire, transform into art galleries for the weekend. The whole town is a pop up explosion of over 120 galleries. Exhibiting and selling works by residents and visiting artists. Works include painting, printmaking, textiles ceramics and of course illuminated art. Its spectacular. You get to see and buy fabulous art, presented by the artists themselves.

For us, this is made all the sweeter by the fact that we exhibit with Luke and Sophie at the Betsy and Bo sweet shop. Hell yerh, art and Sweets. I’m literally like a child in a candy store. A glorious location and chance to nose into house after house, all full of some of the most impressive interior and design solutions you would ever hope to see. I love it and am so thrilled to be going back. Last year I had to constantly pinch myself that we were there exhibiting. It’s a real honour, to be taken so seriously. I will be there all weekend, so please do come and see us. You may find me with my face in the fudge! See you there.
